Phoenix Press Box Association collection, 1949-1997.

The main activities of the Phoenix Press Box such as Scholarships, Sports Awards Dinners, Sports Hall of Fame are documented in newspaper clippings, press releases, photographs, correspondence and VHS tapes and photographs. The collection also contains correspondence regarding the daily operations of the organization as well as publications used as background information for various awards. The collection houses biographies of inductees in the Arizona Sports Hall of Fame and information regarding the dedication of the Arizona Sports Hall of Fame in 1971. Note that the collection contains awards and memorabilia from Dr. Charles Borah, 1928 Olympic Gold Medalist in Track and Field. There are some gaps in the Sports Awards Dinner programs. Where possible the programs were kept with the file for that particular year. Those filed separately do not have additional information for that year.
